How did we make ldr work?

How do you make a long distance relationship work long term is a question I have been asked many times over the years.

The answer is always the same and that is commitment to the relationship and each other.

I feel that to have a successful long distance relationship you have to be each others rock and confidant through good times and bad. life isn't perfect and there will be times when a ldr is tougher than a "normal relationship".

How we made our relationship work was though communicating every day. We would text each other every morning when we woke up and chat every evening before we went to bed. Once a week we would have what we called date night which meant chatting via video call through skype.
