Book Review - Bridget Jones's Baby

Bridget Jones's Baby Written by Helen Fielding

 

I have read the book and also seen the film. The book is considerably different to the film which was quite disappointing.

Firstly in the book Bridget  sleeps with both Mark Darcy and Daniel Cleaver the 2 men she has been involved with since the start of the books however in the film she sleeps with Mark Darcy and a new man called Jack who she meets at a festival. Neither Jack or the festival feature at all in the book.

Secondly the difference between when Bridget tells the possible fathers about the baby and each other . In the book she texts both of them straight away and tells them about the possibility it might not be there's pretty much straight after, however in the film she keeps both a secret for a while even including two visits to the hospital for ultrasounds.

Finally my opinion would be that both the book and film are both worth reading / watching the film is hilarious. I would suggest reading the book before you watch the film however if you do not read the book you will be able to follow along with the film and all the new characters in it.
